How We Fit Your Dental Crown
Getting a crown requires at least two visits to our Fort Worth office. Each appointment is straightforward, comfortable, and performed under local anaesthesia so you feel nothing during the procedure.
Visit One — Tooth Preparation & Temporary Crown: During your first appointment, Dr. Brown gently removes any decay and reshapes the tooth to create the ideal foundation for your new crown. Digital impressions are taken and sent to our dental laboratory where your permanent crown is custom-fabricated. To protect your prepared tooth while you wait, a temporary crown of either plastic or metal is fitted the same day. You leave the office with your tooth fully covered and functional.
Visit Two — Permanent Crown Placement: Once your permanent crown returns from the laboratory, you return for your second appointment. Dr. Brown removes the temporary crown, cleans the tooth, and carefully fits and adjusts your new permanent crown to ensure a precise bite and perfect alignment. When everything is exactly right, the crown is permanently cemented into place. You leave our Fort Worth office with a beautiful, natural-looking tooth that is built to last decades.
